Have you ever gone to a restaurant and found yourself intrigued by the entire appetizer menu but bored with the same old entree choices? Happens to me all the time, which is why appetizers are some of my favorite things to eat and one of my favorite things to create.
When it came to planning my mini thanksgiving, I needed some kind of appetizer to keep my guests entertained and snacking while I finished up some last minute meal details. Cheese plate? Too predictable. Fruit and veggie tray? Boring. After some brainstorming, I found a combo of all these things and the "grown up PB&J platter" was born.
Now I have a disclaimer, this is not a recipe. This is not a girlcancook original. This is me reinventing some of the ingredients I was already using, slapping them on a plate, making it pretty, and calling it a day.
How to make your own:
There are endless possibilities with this, so get creative! The important thing to remember is balancing flavors and textures. Below is a list of what I used on my plate with the flavor and texture profiles.
